Humans are walking talents but still more than 90% of humans walk and work through life with undiscovered talents and potentials. Also majority of those that are employed are actually under employed because their potentials are underutilized because of undiscovered talents and potentials.
The consequences of this is that many societies and countries especially in Africa are denied of their true level of development and greatness. And even societies that are aware of this gap in human capital development, poor leadership, corruption and outright negligence is reason for lack of implementation of policies to actualize this laudable idea of human capital development, thereby leading to underdevelopment that translates to high level of unemployment and excruciating poverty to its citizens.
It’s said that a problem identified is a problem solved. How true is this only time will tell. But the solution to this problem is that every grassroot society must have a career and talent development center where talent test, talent count and competitive talent program are conducted for talent development.
In Nigeria, the 774 local government must have a talent and Career center that is under the supervision of the Chairman of the local government.
