All living creatures including humans are created and born with a gift but none was created or born with a Talent. Talent is an Occupassion but not a gift. Occupassion is what we got paid for a living while gift is what we gift to people for the love and compassion we have for them. The attitude of gifting is what necessitates the need to develop a skill or talent to be able to deliver our gift in a that it will be appreciated.
Therefore, if you are not gifting what God has given to you, you can’t be paid for the skill or talent that convinces people that you are gifted.
Let me explain this quote with one Non-academic talent like Football and one Academic Talent like Teaching. Messi is a great footballer that most people are proud of. He has a gift of entertaining people through playing football. But Messi started entertaining people through football on the streets of a small town or city in Argentina without being paid and along the line he developed the skill or talent of dribbling, scoring great goals, scoring penalties and free kicks before he was discovered and then started earning from Football. Likewise, a person with a gift of knowledge, in trying to gift people his or her knowledge he or she has to communicate his knowledge to people without being paid until he or she develops his develop his ability to write, speak or teach, before people will be convinced that he has a gift of knowledge.
Therefore, talent is the currency for your gift but before you get paid be generous with your gift and at the appointed time you will be rewarded because of the talent you developed while gifting your gift.
